1 Contract Full-Time Position, duration: 13 Months
Pay Band: $76,054-$95,068 per annum plus comprehensive benefits

Hours of Work: 35 hours of work per week, Monday to Friday
Reporting to the Supervisor Traffic Development and Permits you will be responsible for reviewing and providing comments on development applications ensuring necessary road improvements are implemented utilizing Region of Peel and Ministry of Transportation standards
What you will do in this role:
- Review and comment on: site plans, plans of subdivisions, committee of adjustment, access requests, detailed engineering design submissions and traffic impact studies
- Conduct and analyze various studies including, sight distances, capacity analysis, collision analysis and storage requirements to identify the necessary road infrastructure
- Review traffic impact studies, signal warrants, queuing, signal operations, pavement markings and signs for existing and proposed access and intersections as it relates to development
- Process detailed engineering submissions for all development applications as it relates to property requirements, drainage and construction of accesses and road improvements
- Prepare Council reports
- Correspond with Councillors, planning consultants, engineering consultants and the general public
- Work with various developers, consultants and internal staff to provide necessary information as it relates to development applications
- Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through continuous development, modeling inclusive behaviors, and proactively managing bias
What the role requires:
- Successful completion of a degree or diploma in Transportation / Civil Engineering Technology and or Transportation Planning
- Minimum of 3 years relevant experience
- An equivalent combination of relevant education and experience will be considered
- Demonstrated skills and experience in project management and traffic operations
- Knowledge and understanding of the TAC, OTM, OGDSM and Highway Traffic Act and other relevant legislation
- Knowledge and understanding of the development and application process, EA process and traffic forecasting skills
- Strong public relations, communication, organizational, administration and problem solving skills
- Excellent computer skills
- Thorough knowledge of computerized traffic engineering applications and methodologies including Synchro and Microstation
- Valid “G” driver’s license (in good standing) and daily access to a vehicle

Location and work mode: In this role you will have the ability to work hybrid and attend on-site once a week on Tuesdays and/or when required based on operational requirements at the 10 Peel Centre Drive, Brampton ON worksite. The frequency of on-site activities may vary on a weekly basis and based on operational requirements. Your flexible work location must be located within the province of Ontario.
Hours of Work: 35 hours per week, Mon-Fri.
