Using the power of data science, AI, and the knowledge of 100+ medical experts, Flo supports women during their entire reproductive lives and provides curated cycle and ovulation tracking, personalized health insights, expert tips, and a private community to share questions and concerns.

The medical team is responsible for medical content creation and review. We also address user complaints about medical information and can advise other teams on medical issues. We maintain partnership development with international medical and health organizations and associations. Our team builds strong peer-to-peer relationships with American and European medical experts. We conduct both internal scientific research projects and projects guided by partner academic institutions, such as Stanford University, Johns Hopkins University, Northwestern University, The University of Adelaide, and Texas Christian University.

We are looking for a Director of Medical Accuracy to bring Flo to the next level of medical accuracy and clinical safety at a crucial time in our growth.

Working closely with your team of Medical advisors as well as Product managers, Data scientists, Content managers you will make sure that we create innovative, effective, and safe digital products that improve the health and wellbeing of 240+ million of women globally.

 

What we’re looking for:

Essential:

  • Advanced medical degree (M.D. or equivalent)
  • 2+ years’ clinical practice experience as a Physician
  • 2+ years’ working in a managerial position in a commercially driven Healthcare Organisation (Health Tech, Big Pharma, Biotech)
  • Experience in Project Managing a commercial Medical team creating and /or reviewing educational content
  • Impactful way of working (able to move projects with minimal support/supervision, able to convince people outside of the organization to contribute to the project)
  • Experience in the direct management of a medical team in a commercial environment, creating and implementing growth plans for your direct reports, and regularly monitoring performance against KPIs.
  • Good understanding of best practices in Medical Content Review, and experience in the oversight of PR, commercial, and clinical risks relating to health content in a commercial environment
  • Strong interpersonal communication (ability to explain complicated concepts in an easy to understand way, resilience, advanced negotiation skills, optimistic mindset)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment fast-paced with developing and growing processes and systems (which you’ll help to shape!)

Desirable:

  • Experience in hiring medical positions and / or building medical teams
  • Experience working in a start-up or innovations based environment
  • Therapeutic exposure, or specialism, in Obstetrics & Gynecology, General medicine, Endocrinology, Family planning / Family Medicine, Reproductive Medicine or Women’s Health

What you will be doing:

  • Help Flo’s product organization create medically accurate content/features aimed at improving health of different users segments (teens, tracking, trying to conceive, pregnant, perimenopause) based on their needs from clinical perspective
  • Provide  managerial oversight of Flo’s Medical Advisors team, responsible for ensuring users get  medically accurate content & features
  • Relationship management and negotiating with multiple stakeholders to launch and manage projects central to medical accuracy of content
  • Recruit, manage and develop a team of in-house medical advisors (and contractors), promote their professional development and oversee their performance
  • Create the company’s medical and clinical safety policies for content using an evidence-based approach, paying attention to clinical and PR risk management considerations
  • Represent the company at scientific congresses, medical meetings, advisory boards, and industry networking events

 

We’re hiring across a wide, European territory for this role.

UK salaries start at £100,000, with flexibility to go upwards depending on candidate experience.
