Job Description

The Enterprise IT Systems Engineer contributes toward the success of our technology initiatives. The Enterprise IT Systems Engineer is responsible for a hybrid of on-site systems and cloud-based solutions. The Enterprise IT Systems Engineer is responsible for creating innovative ideas to improve technology for YMCA team members. The Enterprise IT Systems Engineer is responsible for all information technology (IT) monitoring and reporting for server and network systems. The Enterprise IT Systems Engineer identifies and supports information technology (IT) documentation and policies for systems and networks. The Enterprise IT Systems Engineer will oversee Windows & Linux Servers, Microsoft Office products, Cloud, Security systems and desktop management. The Enterprise IT Systems Engineer will also be a point of contact for information technology (IT) service desk staff and participate in information technology (IT) off-hour emergency support rotations.
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for evaluation, planning, design and implementation of hybrid on premise systems architecture, public, and private cloud solutions.
- Recommend, develop and implement changes that would streamline technology services to YMCA employees.
- Develop, promote, and implement innovative ideas to improve the technology of the YMCA.
- Oversee applications of Windows and Linux server systems.
- Monitor the health and status reporting for server and network systems, UPS, and event logs.
- Become a point of contact for level 2 or level 3 problem escalations from service desk staff.
- Write documentation for internal service desk use and to assist users in learning to use YMCA’s computer systems.
- Become backup to the Senior Systems Engineer and the Database Engineer
- Participate in IT’s off-hours emergency support rotation.
- Provide support to 3rd party development partners, and contractors.
- Support Security and Compliance teams to implement policies and procedures.
Relationships:
This position reports to the Director of IT Engineering who reports to the SVP – Information Technology. The incumbent interacts regularly with branch and Association level staff while providing support for computer and network related issues.
Work Conditions:
- Must be able to work on a computer for extended periods of time.
- Travel to various YMCA sites throughout the Twin Cities and remote camps.
- Ability to respond to emergency situations after normal business hours.
- Ability to lift boxes containing computer hardware up to 50 pounds during the configuration and installation process.
