Full-Time Sustainability Coordinator

OFFICE OF OPERATIONS

Traditional 235 work days

FTE: 1.0

Salary Range: $51,940 – $60,235

Essential Functions and Objectives

Works with the sustainability team to maintain accurate utility data, participates in process improvement opportunities and maintains customer satisfaction with utility related concerns. Responsible for

coordination of operational functions, such as financial, data, communications and sustainability program needs. 

Uses utility management software and other tracking systems to enter utility billing data; maintains related files and information.

Applies an understanding of scientific units for energy (kWh, kW, MMbtu, Therms, Dtherms) and water (kGals) to identify errors and works with utility providers to obtain corrected data in order to mitigate

costly mistakes for the District.

Works with utility providers to remedy interrupted services.

Compiles invoices, utility data, and construction drawings from maintenance and planning, design and construction teams for rebate applications, ensuring accuracy.

Works with contractors on solar array production issues.

Provides support for budget management and reconciliation, including payments, journal entries, purchase orders, card transactions, etc.

Responds to department inquiries when needed and compiles information for monthly newsletter and other communications.

Provides service to schools regarding sustainability programs.

Identifies process improvement opportunities.

Supports contract administration and other operational duties, as assigned.

Knowledge, Experience & Other Qualifications:

Three (3) years experience with utility billing, including a thorough understanding of scientific units for energy (kWh, kW, MMbtu, Therms, Dtherms) and water (kGals) and experience in utility management software.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and Google Workspace.

Effective time management and organizational skills.

Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Strong attention to detail.

Effectively handles multiple demands and competing deadlines.

The ability to take responsibility for one’s own performance.

Works collaboratively with others on a team.

High degree of integrity in handling confidential information.

Education Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Sustainability or relevant experience preferred
