Full-Time Survivor Program Associate

Job Description

Everytown for Gun Safety, the nation’s largest gun violence prevention advocacy group, is seeking a Survivor Program Associate for the Trauma-Informed Programs team, part of the Everytown Survivor Network. The Survivor Program Associate will fulfill an integral role in researching and developing resources designed to educate and raise awareness to the trauma of gun violence. The Survivor Program Associate will work closely with the Director of Trauma-informed Programs to organize events and training programs, and explore opportunities to elevate the needs and experiences of people who have experienced trauma from gun violence.

You are a problem-solver with exceptional attention to detail and experience developing training content and resources for a variety of stakeholders.

The Survivor Program Associate will be responsible for the following:

  • Research and develop evidence-based resources on trauma for a variety of audiences
  • Develop trainings and curriculum around trauma and its impact on a variety of constituencies including staff, volunteers and other stakeholders in the movement
  • Work with the Director of Trauma-Informed Programs and Research Department to conduct unique qualitative research projects
  • Join partner development meetings with external experts on trauma
  • Manage logistics of monthly trauma-informed learning series for staff and collaborate on delivery and content development
  • Manage logistics of trainings and learning sessions for volunteers and survivors of gun violence and collaborate on delivery and content development
  • Administrative duties for trauma-informed staff committee

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of experience supporting issue advocacy campaigns or audiences impacted by trauma
  • Proactive problem solver with a strong ability to multitask and to be resourceful
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and ability to be flexible to adjust to changing needs and priorities
  • Self-starter with initiative and ability to manage up, around and below
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Customer service orientation and ability to engage with individuals in a personable and sensitive manner
  • Keen attention to detail, the ability to organize information for concise decision making
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

The salary range for this position is $60,000 to $70,000 per year. Everytown offers a generous benefits package including medical, dental, and vision benefits; paid time off; a 401(k) match; education assistance; and more.
