Full-Time Survey Engineering Technician II
Job Description
- Operate field survey equipment in complex technical assignments for highway route location survey projects in the field and office.
- Perform complex CADD and computer operations in surveying and creating plan sheets and survey data for Transportation Improvement projects, including hydraulic surveys, complex horizontal alignments, setting of photogrammetric controls, property condemnations, and Global Positioning System (GPS) field work.
- Use your independent judgment in the application of standard civil engineering practices and procedures.
- Get your reviewed by senior technicians and engineers as part of our engineering survey group.
- Supervise survey teams in moderately-complex field operations.
- CADD and computer experience in the design of highways (topographic features, hydrographic information, utility locations, property boundaries, elevations etc.), digital terrain model (DTM) files, preparation of preliminary, or final versions of property condemnation maps.
- Experience planning, directing, overseeing, and leading the work of junior technicians in primarily survey field and some office work.
- Experience working with field survey equipment, i.e. total stations, GNSS receivers.
- Experience developing maps/plans using CADD software.
- Knowledge of standards, principles, and practices of surveying.
- Associate’s degree in Engineering Technology, Survey Technology, or a related field, and
- 2+ years relevant technician-level experience; or
- An equivalent combination of training and experience.
