Full-Time Survey Engineer – Entry Level
Job Description
- Perform entry level engineering work in the independent application of professional techniques and standards to moderately difficult transportation, design, or analysis of engineering projects.
- Assist senior engineers on major/complex projects.
- Address the functionality and applicability of survey data for project design with little supervision.
- Support senior engineers in project design through the review and development of project data.
- Provide engineering coordination of projects with in-house and Private Engineering Firms (PEFs) for in-house projects.
- Contact property owners during project development.
- Knowledge of surveying principles relating to boundary, geodetic, and route surveying.
- Experience scheduling survey crews and estimating/scoping labor hours for survey work.
- Knowledge of Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) survey procedures and processing.
- Knowledge of coordinate systems and data used in surveying.
- Computer skills to review the work of others in CADD.
- Bachelors degree in engineering; or
- An equivalent combination of training and experience.
- We may require registration as a professional engineer by the North Carolina Board of Examiners for Engineers and Surveyors.
