Full-Time Support Worker

Job Role: Support Worker       

Salary: £23,240                

Hours: Full Time 37.5 hours per week            

Contract type: Permanent 

Location: Bath

Additional information:    

  • On-call (1 in 4 weeks), £100/week when on-call

The Role:

To assess and support clients to develop independent living skills that will enable them to move from low-level support to independent living within about two years. Facilitate access to services that meet client health, social, educational and employment requirements, taking account of client aspirations and needs. Ensure clients are accessing and managing the benefits that they are entitled to.

Responsibilities include: 

  • Complete needs assessment/risk assessment for clients leading to the delivery of key elements of support plans which meet individual client’s needs and self-selected aspirations
  • Give clients emotional support, information and provide an enabling service so that they can be signposted to and access appropriate services.
  • Ensure that organizational administrative systems, including Petty Cash and rent/service charge collection are accurately maintained and updated.
  • Work at all times within the Health & Safety and Environmental Health legislation and within safety guidelines established for the project.
  • Work in accordance with the organization’s Equal Opportunities Policy and with all its other policies.

Qualifications / Requirements: 

  • Ability to undertake Needs Assessment and Planning for people with complex social needs
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Extensive previous work with clients with Autism or Asperger’s and complex social needs
  • Working with people with complex needs and challenging behavior
  • Empathy and understanding of the needs of Julian House Clients.
