CLOSING DATE – 10 August 2023 at midnight. Please note we will be interviewing successful candidates on a rolling basis and as such may close the vacancy before the deadline

We have an exciting opportunity for a Support Project Worker to join our dynamic team at Lansworth House supporting young people aged 16-25 living within a 24-hour supported accommodation service for those who have been, or are at risk, of homelessness. This project offers 20 high quality bedspaces with shared communal facilities.

In this role, you will support a caseload of young people or adults at risk, providing supported housing services and coaching them so they can articulate and achieve their aspirations, and acquire the skills they need to live independent and fulfilling lives. You will ensure that young people are encouraged to take responsibility for their personal development, engage with the services on offer and build strong networks within the local community to sustain their journey when they move on. You will also identify and encourage the growth of each resident’s strengths and talents. In addition, you will coach young people to manage their occupancy agreement and adhere to house rules, in preparation for independent living, and promote a credit culture, encouraging young people to keep up to date with all payments for rent.

This role is based on site at Lansworth House, Hove. Your working pattern will change from one shift to another on a rotating basis. The two shifts are 8am-4pm and 2pm-10pm.

ABOUT YOU – We know that there are great candidates who will not fit everything described, or who have important skills we have not mentioned. If that is you, please do not hesitate to apply and tell us about yourself

The successful applicant will be passionate about supporting young people to lead independent lives and ideally have some experience of working with a similar client group. The successful applicant will love being involved in the support and growth of young people and will be able to actively encourage residents into education, training and employment. You will be able to use your skills to ensure the progression of young people and have the will to learn about the key risks, challenges and opportunities for young people.
