Full-Time Supervisor of Trades
Job Description
Elmira College is a private liberal arts College located in the Finger Lakes region of New York. Seeking innovative professionals from diverse backgrounds to fill the position of Supervisor of Trades to join the Facilities team.
The Supervisor of Trades is responsible for maintaining and repairing Elmira College owned buildings, training staff, and supporting equipment for the campus.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Supervise and perform repairs to buildings and equipment including electrical and plumbing systems, locks, doors, windows, electrical and kitchen equipment;
- Plan, coordinate, assign, and review work activities;
- Plan for repairs, alterations, and additions to EC properties creating cost estimates as needed;
- Inspect and supervise work done by employees and private contractors;
- Manage and participate in trades on call rotation;
- Manage and coordinate repairs to the ice plant at the Murray Athletics Center.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Five years of progressively responsible building maintenance experience including extensive exposure to a wide variety of building maintenance methods, procedures, and techniques;
- Education and Training: Vocational-technical course work in building trades, maintenance or related field;
- Knowledgeable in HVAC systems and controls;
- Thorough knowledge of electrical power supplies;
- Valid driver’s license;
- Thorough knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations relative to plant operations and maintenance;
- Experience with ice plant (hockey) operations (preferred).
WORK LOCATION: Elmira, NY – NOT Remote

BASIS OF PAY: Salary

WORKING CONDITIONS: Frequent interactions with faculty, staff, and visitors. Will be required to stand for long periods of time and to lift and carry 50+ pounds. Work schedule may require nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
