Position Purpose:
Perform work with personnel within the Substation Department and other internal departments and external entities for the purpose of ensuring safe and reliable substation construction, maintenance,and operational actvities. Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot substation equipment including protection and control sytems, Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), line switching and voltage regulating equipment, capacitor banks, battery systems, AMI, and a variety of communication systems. Ensure all work activities are performed in accordance with Company, state and federal regulations and guidelines. Perform duties and maintain working relationships with employees, contractors and vendors in accordance with the Company’s Core Principles. This position falls under the Department of Transportation drug testing requirements. |

50 | Perform substation construction and maintenance activities required to accomplish assigned projects. Perform monthly substation inspections and ensure all abnormalities are corrected to maintain integrity and operational reliability of equipment. Have the ability to assume the responsibility of Employee in Charge as it relates to the Unitil Switching and Safety Tagging policies and procedures* (1st Class Only). Maintain and adhere to all Company test and work procedures as required. Train Company personnel in work procedures and processes required to accomplish substation construction and maintenance*(1st Class Only). |

| Perform inspections and maintenance on all substation equipment and distribution eqiupment including but not limited to line switching devices, voltage regulators, and capacitors. Assist the Line Dept with the operation, maintennace, troubleshooting and repair of underground systems and equipment as needed. |
20 | Maintain, and troubleshoot the operational integrity of SCADA equipment, communication systems, and wiring to controlled devices. Maintain AMI equipment within substations. |

| Provide input and suggestions for annual Capital and O&M budgets. Provide status updates on assigned projects to ensure project completion within budget and schedule constraints. Maintain and monitor activities and documentation in accordance with the Company’s maintenance policies and procedures. |
Qualifications:
· Associate of Science Degree in Electrical/Electronic Technology or a curriculum compatible with the requirements of this position or equivalent related educational background. · Ability to use hand tools and electrical testing equipment · Working knowledge of electrical equipment, protection & control systems, and DC systems associated with the power delievery system. · Must be comfortable working with energized conductors. · Possess or obtain within 6 months and maintain a valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License from the state in which they reside. · Requires CDL and Driver Qualification File · Will be drug tested under the FMCSA drug pool · This position falls under the Department of Transportation drug testing requirements. · Reside within a specified geographical area as defined by the collective bargaining agreement. · Must be available for duty during times of system emergencies. |

HOURS: Hours shall be Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
WAGE: Ultimate rate: $39.52 – $53.19 per hour, for a 40 hour week. Overtime rates in accordance with UWUA Agreement, Local #B340
