Job Description:
The Student Success Navigator is directly accountable to the designated Associate Director of Student Success Navigation for the following duties and responsibilities:
The individual filling this position is expected to play a positive leadership role in helping the College effectively manage change.
- Provide current and prospective students with sound, professional enrollment and academic advice following guidelines determined by administration and academic leadership.
- Maintain superior knowledge of all academic programs and business practices related to the admissions and enrollment processes.
- Engage with students and the public via phone, web, and in-person methods under the parameters and guidelines set forth by administration.
- Serve as departmental liaison for the purposes of off-site advising, information sharing, and collaboration with assigned academic programs and other departments as directed.
- Play an active role in new student orientation, recruitment and other events designed to promote the college and other student success initiatives.
- Review and interpret academic records and degree plans for the purposes of course placement and academic advising and maintain accurate records regarding interactions with students.
- Maintain accurate records regarding interactions with students using student database and other software as directed.
- As a part of the college’s risk management tool annual mandatory compliance training is required.
- Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree required; prior academic advising experience preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of college admissions, academic advising, financial aid, and state regulations with proven success in troubleshooting and resolving complex issues in a calm, professional manner
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, and demonstrated proficiency in use of computer and/or web-based communications and data-management software; Banner, Zoom, and/or DegreeWorks experience a plus
- Superior customer service skills and demonstrated ability to function professionally and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends and travel within Okaloosa and Walton Counties

- The physical demands of this position are those of working in an air-conditioned environment. May be exposed to seasonal conditions of heat, cold, and/or rain.
