Job Description

Student Adviser 

£31,426 – £34,238 per annum 

37 hours per week 

The working pattern is Monday to Thursday 7.5 hours per day, Friday 7 hours per day 

52 weeks per annum 

Witney Campus 

Permanent 

Start date is TBC 

Would you like to join an exciting and innovative college to help provide the best possible wellbeing and safeguarding support for all our students?

Joining our existing Student services & Safeguarding team at Witney campus, you will help triage referrals and concerns from both staff and students and use your knowledge of statutory safeguarding and well-being principles to give students the best possible support. Holding your own caseload, you will refer to and liaise extensively with external professionals including children’s services, the police, mental health services and attend multi-agency meetings including statutory child protection. As required, you will initiate and participate in risk assessment planning.
 

To succeed in this role you will have a background of working with young people ideally from within the education, health, social care, police or youth sectors and be able to demonstrate experience of remaining calm and dispassionate when dealing with sensitive and complex safeguarding and mental health issues. 

It goes without saying that you will be a confident communicator both orally and in writing and be able to keep accurate case notes. You will be comfortable working both independently and as part of the wider college team.
