The City of Camas is currently seeking qualified candidates for a Stormwater Senior Engineering Technician position. The individual selected for this position will perform technical level duties in support of the City’s stormwater program. The individual will perform field related inspections in all weather conditions, support the City’s Stormwater Engineer in ensuring NPDES Permit compliance, support the City’s Development Engineering group with stormwater related development issues, and work with homeowners’ associations and residents on stormwater and water quality related concerns, among other related duties.
The hours for this position are generally Monday-Friday 7am-4pm but can vary. This position is represented by the CPEA bargaining unit and is eligible for a comprehensive benefits package which includes family and domestic partner benefits such as medical, dental and vision. Retirement benefits are provided through Washington State Retirement System. Other benefits include life insurance, paid holidays, and accrued leave.
Candidates for this position shall have:
- Education equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade supplemented by college level coursework in engineering, environmental studies, or a related field
- Four years of increasingly responsible technical engineering, stormwater, water quality or related experience
- Basic understanding of stormwater, stormwater infrastructures and stormwater facilities
- Experience in stormwater facility inspection is preferred
- Experience in reading and interpreting construction plans and in utilities infrastructure construction such as storm mains and facilities, water, sanitary sewer, etc. is preferred
- Valid driver’s license
