NEW HIGHER SALARY: $43,500 – $76,125
 
The Challenge
We are looking for an staff development specialist to join our Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) Special Operations team in our new Rocky Mount headquarters.
 
The Special Ops team:
    1. Providessupport to Vehicle Services staff to help solve problems as a comprehensive help desk resource.
    2. Develops and administers ongoing system training for all staff (includes updating and writing technical manuals, PowerPoint presentations, press releases, broadcast messages, official bulletins, and special memorandums.)
    3. Maintains our State Titling and Registration System (STARS), International Registration Plan (IRP), Computer Vehicle Registration (CVR), Dealer Track, Inovah, Vehicle Tax System (VTS), Electronic Lien Titling (EL T) and Internet systems (PayT) to ensure they work properly. Tasks include documenting problems, writing responses to correct the issue, writing test plans and testing affected system for proper functionality).
    4. When new legislation is passed, the team facilitates joint application development sessions and provides input to ensure the systems are updated correctly and in accordance to the law.
    5. Maintains all system code tables and security functions.
    6. Coordinates with Vehicle Services management on policy issues and with the Department of Information Technology on technical issues.
    7. Provides support to Vehicle Services and other DMV HQ teams.
  
What You Bring
    • Experience testing application and system programs and processes.
    • Computer skills in Microsoft Office.
    • Experience reviewing detailed documents with records for accuracy and completeness.
    • Experience troubleshooting and resolving issues and making independent decisions.
    • Experience using our STARS (State Titling and Registration System) platform.
 
Note
    • We will conduct a criminal background check.
 
Education & Experience
    • Bachelor’s degree, and
    • 1+ years experience in a training or teaching role, and
    • 1+ years experience in a human service, counseling, or training program; or
    • An equivalent combination of training and experience.
