Full-Time Sr Manager, IT Financials, Contracts & Vendor Management

Job Description

Manages and directs the IT Financial/Contract Management Department. This function manages the purchasing process for all IT related hardware/software and the associated IT financial analysis, vendor management and IT contract management.

  • Supervises a team of exempt and nonexempt employees associated with IT Financial/Contract Management. Responsible for setting priorities/performance metrics, hiring, performance appraisals, employee counseling, promotions and salary actions. Ensures staff is trained in departmental processes and procedures to ensure employees meet goals and expectations.
  • Reviews all IT financial analysis associated with this department’s function and performs detailed expenditure analysis outlining operating impacts and expenditure details. Findings and recommendations are used and relied on by Senior Management for decision making purposes.
  • Creates and manages IT product acquisition and IT vendor engagement policies, processes and guidelines to ensure proper financial controls.
  • Manages a Capital Budget financial tool that is used to monitor and manage all IT capital expenditures. This position is able to approve capital expenditures on items up to $25,000 and operating expenditures up to $150,000 per item following Accounting procedures.
  • Creates and manages Capital, Labor and Professional Services plans. This includes financial reporting, analysis and forecasting to Senior Management and Executives used in decision making.

  • Completes Data Center, Capital, Labor and Professional Services financial forecasts and analysis for Senior Management and Executives so they can make decisions on future IT investments.
  • Manages relations with workgroups across the company regarding IT Financial/Contract Management directives which meet business needs such as license compliance, contract review, vendor management, IT financial analysis and data security.
  • Assesses, develops and implements alternatives to reduce the TCO (total cost of ownership) of IT equipment in order to drive down Data Center operating costs. These include: purchasing alternatives, maintenance alternatives, licensing alternatives.
  • Develops and enforces policies and procedures relating to IT specific contract and vendor interaction requirements, IT hardware and software acquisition, as well as use and disposal of assets to ensure contracts are in the best interest of Paychex business needs and to ensure Paychex assets, data and licensing are protected.
  • Reviews, analyzes, negotiates and binds Paychex into agreements with vendors surrounding the purchasing of IT hardware/software/services. Performs detailed contract reviews to ensure business and legal terms are aligned with company needs and best use of the product as well as ensuring the best cost and services are provided.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Technology related discipline degree preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in Management, accounting, financial analysis, contract review, business and vendor relations or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • International procurement experience preferred
