Prime Air is seeking an experienced Hardware Development Manager who combines superb technical, analytical, and leadership capabilities with a demonstrated ability to get the right things done quickly and effectively. This person must be comfortable leading a team of top-notch developers and collaborating with our research teams. We’re looking for people who innovate and love solving hard problems! Export Control License
This position may require a deemed export control license for compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Placement is contingent on Amazon’s ability to apply for and obtain an export control license on your behalf.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
– Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field and 10+ years of relevant work experience
– Experience in electronics mechanical packaging or embedded processor design
– Experience managing the product development process in a DO-160-/DO-178 environment
– Ability to explain complex concepts and designs to colleagues across disciplines
– Experience in communicating with end users, business teams and management to collect requirements, describe product features and refine technical designs
– Experience managing electronics supplier partners in development and production
– Experience leading technical teams that have successfully developed and produced airborne electronics at scale
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
– Master of Science or PhD in Electrical Engineering or related field
– Experience managing development programs with DFX (Design to Cost, Test, Manufacturing) mechanisms
– Excellent written and verbal communication skills
– Experience with EVT/DVT/PVT and avionics qualification
– Experience as a technical lead managing teams of engineers; ability to mentor and guide engineers

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $161,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $279,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
