This is a senior level leadership position responsible for supporting, developing, managing, and implementing diversity, equity, and inclusion strategies that promote and foster an accessible, welcoming and affirming environment. Areas of responsibility include advocacy, education, and programming related to diversity, equity and inclusion at the University of Nebraska Department of Intercollegiate Athletics. The Sr. Associate Director for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion will work collaboratively with both Husker Athletics and the UNL Office of Diversity and Inclusion.

The position is responsible for the design, facilitation and implementation of programs that align with Husker Athletics’ commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion for staff and student-athletes and includes areas such as hiring and retaining a diverse staff, supporting gender equity, and developing education programming for both student-athletes and athletics’ staff, while representing athletics on multiple D & I committees across campus, in the community and within the Big Ten Conference.

The Sr. Associate Athletic Director or Diversity, Equity and Inclusion will serve on the Athletic Director’s leadership team. The position will assist in the development, management and coordination of diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives for Husker Athletics.

Minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s degree plus three years of experience related to diversity, equity, and inclusion programming in collegiate athletics. Excellent written and oral communication skills. The ideal candidate may have a Master’s degree, five years of progressively responsible and related experience advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in intercollegiate athletics, direct work experience with collegiate student-athletes.
