Part-Time Sports Information Assistant
Job Description
Elmira College is a private liberal arts College located in the Finger Lakes region of New York. Seeking innovative professionals from diverse backgrounds to fill the position of Sports Information Assistant to join the Sports Information team.
The Sports Information Assistant supports and guides day-to-day sports information communications within Elmira College Intercollegiate Athletics. This position is responsible for helping to maintain a statistical database of all college-sponsored sports, recording and coordinating contest statistics, reporting scores, and writing various stories. This position maintains the website (athletics.elmira.edu), video streaming, live statistics, photography, video production, and production of graphics. The assistant oversees and provides content for social media accounts. He or she assists in hiring, training, and oversight of student-worker staff. This position reports to the Sports Information Director and operates in accordance with NCAA Division III conference regulations, Elmira College policies, and department standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Assist the Sports Information Director and Assistant Director of Sports Information for the athletics program to report news, scores, statistics, and other information to media outlets and conference offices as needed;
- Oversee sports information staffing at assigned home events;
- Update and maintain the department’s website;
- Responsible for statistical complication for each assigned team including game, season and career statistics;
- Assist the Sports Information Director in the implementing Athletics marketing & promotional initiatives in support of the department;
- Oversee the in-game live production video at assigned home sporting events.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field;
- Valid driver’s license;
- Strong writing, editing, computer and oral communication skills are required;
- Successful applicants will become knowledgeable in Statcrew/NCAA Live Stats, Adobe Photoshop, InDesign & Premier, as well as gain some knowledge of HTML code;
- Digital photography experience is a plus;
- Video editing and statistical software experience preferred;
- Night and weekend work required.
WORK LOCATION: Elmira, NY – Not Remote

STATUS: This is a 10-month appointment August 1, 2024 through May 31, 2025. The pro-rated pay is $500 per month based on start date.
