Status: (2) Contract Full Time positions, up to 16 months
Salary Range: $89,469 to $111,834 per annum + comprehensive benefits

Who we are: In collaboration with our partners, the Health Strategy, Planning and Partnerships (HSPP) Division of Health Services provides a system perspective and specialized supports to achieve Regional and Health Services priorities and health program outcomes. By joining the Health Services Transformation Team in HSPP, this position will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with internal and community partners to support and enable change initiatives and projects designed to transform and enhance service delivery across the Health Services department and the broader health system. Current initiatives include: Community Safety & Well-being Plan Refresh, Collaboration with Toronto Metropolitan University – School of Medicine, Health & Human Resource Management.
What you will do in this role:
- Provide expert advice and guidance about strategic, business and operational planning across Health Services
- Facilitate teams across the Department through strategic, business and operational planning initiatives including transformation and process improvement
- Work with teams across Health Services to develop plans to make decisions and drive change
- Work closely with other Specialists and Advisors within HSPP to align methodologies and client initiatives, and to provide a consistent approach to broader performance management
- Build and strengthen positive relationships with internal customers, corporate and broader stakeholders
- Ensure all phases of project delivery are performed within standards, timeframes, scope and budget requirements and that project risks are managed
- Support the integration of planning into existing business practices within the Health Services department
- Raise awareness, desire, knowledge and use of strategic, business and operational planning across the department
- Conduct planning maturity assessments and work with senior leaders to develop strategies to improve maturity
- Keep abreast of best practices in strategic, business and operational planning and build these practices into HSPP methodologies and client work
- Build capacity across the Health Services department through education, facilitation and sharing of best practices to use strategic, business and operational planning to inform performance and project management and decision-making
- Participate in the design and implementation of a planning and performance management system for Health Services
- Interpret and analyze complex information to provide strategic recommendations and reports that will guide policy, programming and operational decisions
- Prepare complex and specialized documentation, reports and analysis
- Synthesize complex information into a wide range of written and visual communication products such as reviews of research evidence, briefing documents, policy positions and presentations
- Prepare and deliver presentations and represent manager/director at meetings and conferences
- Work closely with the Corporate Strategy Office to align corporate and departmental strategic goals/outcomes and progress (performance) reporting
- Liaise with external vendors as required
- Maintain ongoing focus on achieving broader health services outcomes while meeting internal customer needs
- Stay current on relevant trends and priorities across the Public and Healthcare sectors in Ontario
- Provide work direction, advice and mentoring to Analyst and Student colleagues within HSPP
What the role requires:
- Master’s degree in Health Administration, Business Administration or Public Administration, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 5 years’ related experience (i.e project management, change management, analysis and interpretation, facilitation, client relationship management and consultation)
- Combination of education and experience may be considered
Skills/Abilities:
- Expert knowledge of current thinking and practices related to strategic, business and operational planning within the health and public sectors in Ontario
- Ability to provide expert advice to support strategic and operational initiatives
- Strong interpersonal skills to be able to work with senior and executive management, health professionals, other levels of government, other departments, staff and stakeholders
- Excellent facilitation skills with sound knowledge of various facilitation techniques
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to synthesize complex information for a variety of audiences
- Strong facilitation, project management, partnership/collaboration, planning, problem-solving and organizational skills
- Project management certification and/or other related skills in change or process management are an asset Ability to think strategically and take an integrated approach to the work
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement timely solutions to complex problems
- Ability to maintain focus, energy, commitment and positive attitude in the face of uncertainty, change and resistance
- Ability to adapt and work effectively in a variety of situations and with various individuals or groups

Work Mode & Job Location: In this role, you’ll enjoy the flexibility of a hybrid work arrangement. This means you’ll have the ability to work off-site and on-site as needed, depending on operational needs at the 7120 Hurontario Street, Mississauga worksite. The frequency of on-site work may vary from week to week, depending on operational demands, which can evolve over time.
It’s important to note that your off-site work location must be within the province of Ontario. This ensures that we’re compliant with all regulations and policies.
