Special Programs Supervisor, Property Assessment

Your next challenge as a Program Supervisor in the Division of Assessment, Recording, and Taxation (DART) is to…

  • Plan, prioritize, assign, supervise and review the work of staff involved in the Special Programs Group (SPG). 
  • Train, mentor and coach a team of four Tax Exemption Specialists and three Assessment Technicians.
  • Direct and supervise the processing of applications for exemption and special assessments. 
  • Evaluate and analyze the Special Program processes to improve quality and efficiency. 
  • Assign, review, and supervise the preparation of appraisal/assessment reports to the Board of Property Tax Appeals, Department of Revenue and State Tax Court. 
  • Initiate, supervise and approve of changes to Assessment roll to correct errors.  

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree – preferably with major course work in real estate, appraising, business, accounting or related field.  Experience may substitute for a degree (Equivalency 7 years of qualifying training and/or experience).
  • Three (3) years in real estate practices, assessment, taxation, and appraisal methods.
  • Ability to pass a background check

Hybrid Telework: This position is designated as “hybrid telework,” meaning you will be working both remotely (from home) and in person at an onsite location. The designation of Hybrid Telework may be subject to change at a future time. All employees must reside in Oregon or Washington; the county cannot support ongoing telework from other locations. The onsite work location is the Multnomah Building: 501 SE Hawthorne Blvd., Portland, OR 97214.

Schedule: Monday – Friday; There may be some flexibility with start and end times.
