Full-Time Case Manager, Equal Opportunity & Title IX

Job Description

The University of Nevada, Reno invites applications for a Case Manager for the Office of Equal Opportunity and Title IX (EO/TIX). The Case Manager is responsible for reviewing reports of Sexual Harassment, Sexual Assault, Domestic Violence, Dating Violence, Stalking, Unlawful Discrimination, Harassment, and Retaliation on the basis of a protected status, identifying University policies relevant to a report, implementing appropriate support measures, actively fostering and maintaining a climate that is supportive of students, faculty and staff and assisting with post-investigation follow-up with affected community members. The Case Manager responds to reports and concerns raised by members of the community; meeting one-on-one with clients in an in-person or virtual mode as determined by the client, to identify client needs; provides crisis management, crisis intervention, supportive measures, coordination support, training and outreach services; and facilitates access to appropriate campus and community services, following up as needed to assure the provision of prompt, compassionate, and appropriate responses in all EO/TIX cases.  The Case Manager assists with creating systems to ensure timely case processing and referrals, participates in the development and delivery of education and prevention programs, and serves on the University Title IX Coalition.

The successful candidate will be able to develop and implement appropriate complaint response resources that are consistent with Title IX and University policies.  The incumbent communicates effectively, maintains neutrality, meets deadlines and works effectively and respectfully with diverse constituencies to help create and support a safe and inclusive campus environment. Incumbent develops and maintains relationships and clear lines of communication with students, faculty, staff and administration.  The incumbent is responsible for assisting in the development and maintenance of accurate record-keeping systems and reports, assisting in compliance with federal and state reporting and training mandates, running reports to provide statistical support for office priorities/obligations and maintaining a database system for organizing, managing, and tracking EO/TIX cases. The position may also be tasked with managing the electronic case management and records system to include providing access to the system, modifying and editing system processes, and training system users.

Incumbent must be able to competently interact with a culturally and ethnically diverse population of students, faculty and staff. Incumbent will interact regularly in a face-to -face in-person setting with individuals who may have experienced interpersonal violence or other traumatic situations.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and two (2) years of related work experience; OR a Master’s Degree or J.D. and one (1) year of related work experience.

Related Work Experience: Experience in providing case management, crisis management or crisis counseling, or experience working with domestic/dating violence, sexual assault, stalking, sexual and/or gender-based harassment issues, or other areas related to diversity and equity, including but not limited to Title IX, Title VII, and VAWA.

Total Compensation

The total compensation package includes a competitive salary, moving allowance (if applicable), a rich retirement plan, health insurance options that include dental and vision, life insurance, long-term disability, thirty (30) days of sick leave provided upon start date, and two (2) days of sick leave accrued per full month after the first year of service, two (2) days of annual leave accrued each full month, along with many other benefits.
