Full-Time Specialist, Corporate Insurance
Job Description
Insurance Specialist provides insurance industry knowledge for assistance with the development and renewal of all corporate and subsidiary insurance programs. The Specialist will provide assistance for insurance policy coverage conditions and premium renewals. The individual will work independently to accomplish his/her own assigned workload and collaborate with other members of the group to ensure compliance with approved insurance industry standards. The individual in this role will assist to identify the risks of the organization and do what is necessary to place insurance coverage to offset those risks and be accountable to deliver support and guidance to all corporate lines of business, sectors, regions, and legal entities on various types of insurance coverage. This individual will be expected to provide back up support for all members of the insurance group and will be responsible for managing selective insurance coverage. No direct reports.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in negotiations with insurance brokers and underwriters for the placement of renewals and new polices.
- Assist in the placement and renewal process of various Fidelity bonds (Financial Institution Bonds, ERISA Bonds, Broker Dealer Bonds and Investment Advisor Bonds).
- Assist in the placement and renewal process of the Casualty Insurance Program (Workers Compensation, General Liability, Auto Liability, and Umbrella Liability).
- Review insurance contracts and requirements for third party vendors.
- Assist in the handling of third-party liability and automobile liability claims.
- Maintaining and updating various insurance schedules to capture carrier, broker and policy information.
- Assist with monthly budgeting and premium allocation process within internal financial system.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects and priorities to accomplish deliverables on a timely basis.
- Effective team player with proven track record of collaboration and coordination with other business areas.
- Self-starter with ability to take initiative and eager to learn.
- Proven organizational and communications skills (both verbal and written).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Adobe/Nuance (reader/writer).
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or business and 3-5 years of total work experience in the insurance industry preferred.
