Full-Time Solid Waste Outreach and Education Program Coordinator – Public Health

Job Summary

 

Clark County’s Solid Waste program is seeking applicants for the position of Environmental Outreach and Education Program Coordinator (PC). This position will lead a dynamic team who provide public engagement, outreach and education to broad audience around solid waste topics, including waste reduction, diversion, and effective participation in the local system. We are excited to bring someone on board with experience in developing and managing solid waste outreach programs and work plans, strong communication and time management skills, and an ability to quickly develop effective working relationships with a broad array of partners.

 

Qualifications

 

This position will be responsible for the following:

 

  • Environmental Outreach Program Coordination
  • Lead annual process of developing coordinated work plans for individual programs and partnering outreach resources.
  • Apply the goals and recommendation of the Solid Waste Management Plan.
  • Use program data and effective strategies to measure the impacts of outreach work.
  • Assist team in identifying, developing, and evaluating new programs or strategies to address a need within the solid waste system.
  • Implement and update the Outreach Management Plan, which outlines processes for establishing priority topics and strategies for outreach and education focus.
  • Lead review, recruitment and on-boarding process for team vacancies or additional positions.
  • Apply countywide and department policy expectations.

 

People Management

 

  • Establish annual professional goals with each direct report and monitor and evaluate quarterly. Regularly review progress towards goals and outcomes, modify as needed or address challenges.
  • Teaching, motivating, coaching and managing teams.
  • Organizing and delegating assignments to team members.
  • Manage team schedules, time cards, leave, and other related matters.
  • Directly address team performance issues within the guidelines set by HR and Union Contract policies.
  • Perform individual performance reviews.

Salary Grade: M2.820 ($5,750.00 – $8,124.00) per month
