Full-Time Software Engineering Manager, Venture Studio

We’re seeking an Engineering Manager to join our team of builders in leading the creation of transformational healthcare solutions. This  opportunity is a great fit for an engineering leader who enjoys being in the weeds, as well as contributing to long term technical strategy. You will be responsible for building foundational engineering components for our Portfolio Companies and consulting on design and technology infrastructure for pipeline opportunities. You and your team will also support the broader IT Operations and Security for the studio and its portfolio companies.

This is a great opportunity for a relationship oriented leader passionate about shipping great products with long term healthcare impacts. This is a hybrid opportunity, with occasional on-site meetings. Candidates within a commutable distance to Washington, DC preferred.

What you can expect in this role:

Studio Technology Strategy

  • Collaborate with the studio leadership team to define and prioritize technology initiatives that support business growth and expansion.
  • Evaluate new systems and infrastructure to support the organization and products.
  • Hire, train and develop current and future engineering and IT team members.

Portfolio Operations Support & Product Development

  • Serve as a technical subject matter expert in the design, scope, feasibility assessment, cost projection and implementation of MVPs.
  • Support the Business and Product Teams by ensuring timely and high quality delivery of Portfolio company software products.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, design, and engineering, to define product roadmaps and release plans.
  • Work closely with external partners, vendors, and founders to understand their technology needs and ensure successful integrations and partnerships.

IT Operations & Security

  • Oversee and build upon all internal communication and collaboration systems, such as email, slack, and other team specific software programs.
  • Develop and direct all networking safeguards to reduce the risk of outside breaches and protect internal and external client information.
  • Assist studio and portfolio team members with miscellaneous technical needs.

We’d love to meet you if:

  • You have 5+ years of experience in Healthcare adjacent Technology Management, with 2+ years of people leadership experience.
  • You have experience scoping, designing, implementing, launching and maintaining diverse MVPs. Experience as an advisor or working within a consulting, incubator, or venture studio environment is a big plus.
  • You possess a strong technical background with expertise in software development, cloud computing, and mobile device technology. Familiarity with Ruby on Rails, Postgres and/or React preferred.
  • You have a successful track record of leading and delivering complex software projects on time and within budget.
  • You possess an ability to articulate technological strategy to diverse audiences, with experience interfacing at the executive level.
  • You are naturally curious and are interested in being at the forefront of Healthcare innovation.
  • You strive for excellence within your own work, and have a proven track record of inspiring others around you.

Salary range targeted for $140,000 – $150,000 USD. Final offer contingent on factors such as years of experience, location, and subject matter expertise. Unfortunately, this opportunity is not eligible for sponsorship.
