Full-Time Software Developer (Platform Team)

Job Description

Andgo Systems is looking for a Software Developer to join our team and help to shape the future of Andgo’s platform. Working on a team with a Project Manager, tech lead, and other software developers, this role will contribute to the implementation of new features and processes through the development and operations life cycle.

About the Operations Team

Along with SRE, the Platform Team makes up the Andgo Operations Team, the engine that powers the rest of Andgo Systems.  Developers on this team are exposed to a wide array of technologies and an enthusiastic candidate will have the opportunity to learn a great deal.  This team is responsible for our deployment processes, continuous integration pipeline, environment provisioning, and data management. The operations team keeps their own infrastructure road map to support Andgo’s company goals.

Our road map includes the continued rollout of our containerized runtime, SOC 2 compliance, and improving our monitoring and deployment tools.  This team will also continue to scale our proprietary interactive voice phone and SMS system to support millions of SMS and phone calls per month.  We will continue our investment into Google Cloud Platform and further investigate high availability options using GKE.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Working with a Project Manager and Tech Lead to design and implement new platform features.
  • Upgrading existing software to work within a containerized environment.
  • Developing high-quality software according to our security and privacy guidelines.
  • Building and supporting tools to proactively monitor for performance and security issues.
  • Learning from and participating in incident response and disaster recovery.
  • Contributing to the CI/CD pipeline and release management tools.

What We Absolutely Need

  • UNIX / Linux experience and familiarity with Python.
  • Familiarity with the DevOps mindset and cloud infrastructure.
  • A track record of shipping and maintaining high-quality working software.
  • Ability to learn new technology quickly and make recommendations for future plans.
  • Ability to constructively work with a team; sharing, mentoring, and collaborating.
  • Effectively communicate with non-technical stakeholders in terms relevant to them.
  • B.Sc in Computer Science / related Engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with relational database management and data modeling.

Bonus Points for experience in these areas!

  • Development with Django and DRF.
  • ELK stack.
  • Google Cloud Platform tools including GKE.
  • Docker and container orchestration technology.
  • A well-running DevOps environment.
  • Terraform for declarative cloud provisioning.
  • Ansible configuration and inventory management.
  • Zero-downtime deployments (including database migrations).
  • Business Intelligence systems and analytics.
