About the Role
The Software Architect plays a pivotal role in planning, developing, and refining the software stack for growth for the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) members and internal staff by using Full-stack C# .Net building n-tier web applications and services. The Software Architect works closely across the Digital Development and IT Enterprise Resource Planning teams related to strategic and holistic architecture of MGMA’s digital offerings, software, and data warehouse.
- Advocates and implements best practices for performance, reliability, scalability, security, and reusability at the organization level
- Is a hands-on architect with an understanding of how the various systems and components connect and interact
- Researches and identifies the business’s technical requirements
- Writes code to implement key features, patterns, systems, and prototypes that guide the team’s technical direction
- Designs and documents a reference architecture for new software Applications and works with agile software teams to deliver those systems
- Assesses risks, makes trade-offs, and offers a solution over others
- Provides domain expertise and engineering insight to guide designs, accelerates project decision making, and maintains oversight of technical execution
- Brings industry-wide perspective, knowledge of existing resources and tools, and ability to discover new ones as needed to make effective build/buy recommendations
- Conceives, experiments with, and presents architectural approaches for software and systems, including software and processes, in support of business needs
- Shares business or technical information with colleagues
- Mentors developers and development team
- Occasionally supervises consultants and third-party solution vendors
- Works with the IT Enterprise Resource Planning team on data warehouse integration
- Other duties as required and necessary to ensure the success of the organization
The pay range established for this position begins at $81,230 per year and pay is commensurate with market, skills and experience.
About You
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS) or related field is required
- Seven (7) or more years of experience as a software developer required
- Five (5) or more years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server or similar database server required
- Two (2) or more years of experience with application architecture required
- Two (2) or more years of experience with cloud infrastructure required
- Two (2) or more years of experience mentoring preferred
