Temporary Social Media Specialist (Contractor)

Job Description

Flipboard is looking for a creative and enthusiastic Social Media Specialist to shape our presence on our social channels to help us grow our audience, drive engagement and build brand awareness. This person will be responsible for collaborating on our social media strategy, creating and publishing content to a variety of platforms, interacting with community members, and analyzing data to inform strategy and measure results. The ideal candidate understands the audience for each social channel, knows how to foster relationships online, and excels at creating content that adds value and gets noticed.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop a social content strategy-based company vision and communication goals.
  • Build and execute the social calendar for our company accounts on Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, and YouTube.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders internally and externally to meet objectives while staying true to the brand.
  • Create posts, images, gifs, and videos for social channels.
  • Keep a pulse on relevant conversations to identify opportunities to increase audience growth and engagement.
  • Special focus on food, photography, travel, and personal finance.
  • Use analytics to track and optimize programming.
  • Share weekly and monthly updates and insights with key stakeholders.

 

Skills & Experience:

  • 5 years experience in a social media and/or content creation role, ideally with experience overseeing audience growth.
  • Understanding of all social platforms, functionality, and audience growth best practices.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Hootsuite, TweetDeck, and Google Analytics.
  • Ability to use data for monitoring, measurement, and development of creative solutions.
  • Outstanding project management skills and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent cross-functional collaborator and communicator.
  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced, start-up environment.
