Job Summary
The Social Media Manager, who reports to the Director of Marketing, is responsible for managing Experience Scottsdale’s social media strategy, enhancing our destination brand, and building strong online communities through our various social media platforms. This position develops and administers social media content that is designed to engage users and create an interactive relationship between consumers and the company, as well as collects and reviews social media data to develop more effective campaigns. This position also generates new photography and produces short-form videos for the organization.

- Social Media: Work closely with the marketing department to develop social media campaigns that help achieve marketing goals and implement an editorial calendar to manage content and plan campaigns. Manage all social media handles, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, etc. Create strategy to increase engagement; provide content (copy, photos and video) for social media accounts and post daily; monitor customer interactions across all platforms and respond by providing positive interaction with users; analyze and recommend improvements to social media campaigns; optimize company pages within each platform to increase visibility of social content; work with the communications department on executing influencer strategy; report monthly metrics for all social media efforts; and evaluate and recommend new social media opportunities and best practices. Work in collaboration with director of marketing and digital agency on paid social strategy. Review all paid social media ads to ensure best practices and brand alignment.
- Website: Assist with developing and implementing social media and marketing campaigns, contests and promotions to engage customers and build fans/followers/subscribers; use project management software and content calendar to create social content on ongoing basis to deliver a consistent and engaging visitor experience; update regularly the photo management tool; search for user-generated content daily.
- Photo and Video: Photograph original content for the photo library, website, social and print. Operate camera, audio and lighting equipment for Experience Scottsdale events and member activities. Perform post-production editing, which can include audio mixing, music mixing, sound effects, video motion graphics, animation and other special effects. Ensure that all videos are edited to the most effective lengths of time.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Required:
- A passion for social media.
- Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite, Adobe Premier, SEM Rush, Canva and social media platforms.
- Proficient with working on both a PC and a Mac.
- Photography and video skills.
- Graphic design skills.
- Excellent writing and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Creative, detail-oriented, has a positive attitude, works well as part of a team, and has confidence to interact and communicate with Experience Scottsdale staff, members and outside vendors.
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree required in a related field such as marketing, communications or business administration. Minimum of 4 year of work experience, which can include internships. Must have experience running business social media accounts, photography and short-form video. Experience in the hospitality industry preferred.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
This job operates in a hybrid office/remote setting, but also requires active participation in outside meetings and destination activities. This role routinely uses standard office equipment and requires prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Position Type & Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. This position requires up to 5% travel.

Plus, we teach travel agents how to sell our destination to their clients and work to get Scottsdale information in brochures and promotions.
We are a 501(c)(6) nonprofit, private company that enhances the local community by promoting the Scottsdale area as a luxury destination for meetings, events and leisure travel. The organization has contracts with the city of Scottsdale and town of Paradise Valley to conduct destination marketing efforts on behalf of these municipalities. Experience Scottsdale has 37 full- and part-time employees, along with a volunteer board of directors composed of local hospitality/tourism and business industry leaders.
