Reports to: Head of Organic Performance (SEO)

Location: Borehamwood, Hertfordshire, WD6 (60% working from home time offered).

First a bit about the role:

We are looking for a new SEO Manager to help execute our 3–5-year strategy to deliver fast SEO progress for the business, contributing to the overall strategy for the channel, and helping us improve the organic channel traffic contribution.

You will report into our Head of Organic Performance (SEO), working alongside wider stakeholders from Digital Marketing, Dev, Product, Design, website teams and more. To achieve the overall traffic and revenue goals of the business, you’ll also be supported by our internal SEO Content Exec and external agency partner, providing technical audits and content creation.

The responsibility of the Organic Search team covers Outreach, Technical and Content – all driving Organic KPIs. Therefore, the team’s reach of responsibilities includes onsite and offsite actions, SERP visibility, keyword research, and identification of emerging trends. You will also need to demonstrate a strong technical SEO understanding to be able to analyse and prioritise technical audits and brief accurately into our development team, effectively articulating the business value in each technical initiative proposed to ensure it is prioritised effectively.

A bit more about the role:

  • Feeding into the SEO roadmap and objectives (visibility & traffic), by providing best in-class SEO recommendations to drive commercial value
  • Executing the delivery and implementation of tech and on-page optimisations
  • Identify key issues affecting SEO performance and actions required to turn around negative SEO performance
  • Regularly monitor, track and record site performance, whilst being conscious of competitor benchmarking
  • Managing wider stakeholder relationships, internal and external (agency), ensuring project timelines and deliverables are met
  • As part of our technical site architecture, you will need to deliver the tech SEO backlog into our Product, Dev & IT teams to fix, enhance, maintain and establish best SEO practices
  • Feeding back to the Head of department on the technical site performance such as Site Speed on a weekly and monthly basis
  • Investigating and identifying new technical optimisation opportunities
  • Test and review the staging environment for any new pages or release cycles ensuring no impact to SEO and recommendation have been implemented correctly
  • Stay up to date with the latest search engine algorithm changes and SEO industry trends, regularly informing and educating the business on the importance of SEO

And now about you:

  • A background in delivering success in both technical and content-driven SEO
  • Adaptive to business needs, adjusting priorities to take on reactive projects to support wider business initiative
  • Resilient to help push projects and tech tickets end-to-end via articulating SEO needs and impact, prioritisation, conducting staging checks and organisational skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • 3+ years’ experience, specialised in Organic Search
  • High confidence in using SEO tools such as Screaming Frog, OnCrawl, Ahrefs,
  • SEMrush or SEOMonitor
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and analytics tools including Google Analytics, Google Search Console and ideally Adobe Analytics
  • Sound knowledge or experience of technical SEO
  • Understanding and/or experience of using Tag Management system would be nice to have but not essential
