The Challenge
We’re looking for a Senior Utilities Engineer to join our Raleigh HQ team.
In this role, you will
    • Provide engineering support and decisions on projects assigned to the region.
    • Manage utilities relocation schedules in conjunction with our Senior Utilities Coordinator.
    • Manage projects and engineering resources supporting engineering design activities and schedules for NCDOT projects.
    • Make technical recommendations and represent our Regional Utilities Manager and Regional Utilities Engineer in presenting recommendations.
    • Perform reviews of the Utility Analysis and Routing Reports, utility relocation plans and special provisions, project estimates, and cost responsibility determinations.
    • Provide technical support and makes recommendations in the continued support of NCDOT during project construction.
What You Bring
    • Experience developing relocation strategies, designing, reviewing, or providing engineering support for construction of utilities (water, sewer, electric power, gas, or telecommunications).
    • Experience communicating technical information, verbally and in writing, to a range of partners, team members, or stakeholders.
    • Demonstrated ability collaborating on technical matters with other engineers, technical staff, and multidisciplinary team members.
    • Computer skills in CADD and Microsoft Office to access and manipulate data, applications, documents, and design plans.
Education & Experience
    • Bachelors degree in engineering, and
    • 3+ years of relevant experience; or
    • An equivalent combination of training and experience.
Note
    • We may require registration as a professional engineer by the NC Board of Examiners for Engineers and Surveyors.
