Full-Time Senior Utilities Engineer
Job Description
- Provide engineering support and decisions on regional projects.
- Manage projects and engineering resources supporting engineering design activities and schedules for NCDOT projects.
- Make technical recommendations and represent our Regional Utilities Manager and Regional Utilities Engineer in presenting these recommendations.
- Perform reviews of the Utility Analysis and Routing Reports, utility relocation plans and special provisions, project estimates, and cost responsibility determinations.
- Provide technical support and make recommendations in the continued support of the Divisions during project construction.
- Experience developing relocation strategies, designing, reviewing, or providing engineering support for the construction of utilities (water, sewer, electric power, gas, or telecommunications).
- Experience communicating technical information, verbally and in writing, to a range of partners, team members, or stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability collaborating on technical matters with other engineers, technical staff, and multidisciplinary team members.
- Computer skills in CADD and Microsoft Office to access and manipulate data, applications, documents, and design plans.
- We may require registration as a professional engineer by the NC Board of Examiners for Engineers and Surveyors.
- Bachelors Degree in engineering, and
- 3+ years of relevant experience; or
- An equivalent combination of education and experience.
