Position Summary
This position is a principle contributor in developing specific research project requirements and is responsible for all aspects of the project from development through delivery. Perform complex study and data collection methods. May coordinate and direct the work and research tasks of lower level research staff.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Design and lead the execution of quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis plans for key informant interviews, focus groups, survey development, and data analysis.
  • Analyze and interpret data and results and refine study design.
  • Develop and write advanced study protocols including objectives, goals, data collection procedures, and analysis plans.
  • Communicate with external partners across the state.
  • Interpret data and prepare results for dissemination to stakeholders, internal project team, state and national audiences. Distribution methods include data reports, publications, presentations and posters.
  • Monitor maternal health research developments and state and national policy efforts on an ongoing basis and propose related research projects.
  • Provide administrative and analytic support to multiple special projects related to maternal and women’s health.
  • Coordinate and direct the work of lower-level research staff, including student research assistants. Guide and train lower-level researchers and students on methods and analysis related to the Center’s research efforts.
  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

  • PhD in public health, epidemiology, or related field
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of research experience in the field of maternal health and/or public health and/or public health policy and/or systems level theory
  • Knowledgeable about current developments and research findings in women’s and maternal health, able to evaluate their potential applicability to research and service programs, and able to adapt these findings for use in execution of new research and practice projects
  • Expertise with Microsoft Products (Office, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)
  • Proficiency with SPSS, SAS, R or other statistical software
  • Proficiency with Dedoose or other qualitative research analysis software
  • Experience writing research grant proposals and/or research articles for publication
