Job Responsibilities
This global position will be responsible for managing major product development programs within Carrier Transicold’s Container business segment and ensuring that products meet customer needs and market requirements. The role will lead multi-functional product development teams, including identifying team members, allocating resources, developing and maintaining individual and group/development team objectives.
Responsibilities include:
- Lead major product development platform teams from initial marketing requirements definition through concept development, product design, and full production.
- Work with global marketing/sales teams to develop key product specifications that meet and surpass customer requirements.
- Manage cross-functional teams using Carrier Excellence “Quality Management System” and Carrier Passport “tollgate process.”
- Prepare and monitor program and resource plans. Direct and manage resources to achieve on time, on budget project delivery, interfacing with all functions.
- Engage international supply base for cost-effective, reliable solutions
- Communicate project objectives, status, and resource requirements to senior management, as well as to the project team
Education
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline with 10+ years related experience; or MBA/Master’s degree in a relevant engineering or business discipline with 7+ years related experience.
Experience/Qualifications
Must haves:
- Strong project and team management skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills, communication, and leadership.
- Customer-focused
- Ability to interact constructively with diverse teams, including international elements and across various time zones
- Ability to manage multiple, sometimes conflicting priorities
- Strong product quality tool knowledge and practical application experience
- Strong program management skills with the ability to think ahead, anticipate potential problems, and proactively address
Nice to haves:
- Technical understanding of transport refrigeration products for Container business is preferred but not required.
- Previous experience in aerospace, aviation, or with FAA requirements is a plus but not required.
- PMP certification is preferred but not required.
