Job Description

Position Overview

The Senior Program Associate, Member Relations is responsible for providing administrative, logistical, and programmatic support for Global Ties U.S. membership relations and training programs. The position will provide this support primarily in responding to members’ inquiries, compiling, and analyzing different membership reports, and processing licensing and membership dues. The Senior Program Associate will be an integral part of the development of member onboarding, engagement, and communication programs, working closely with the team responsible for developing and executing an array of member-related activities.

The position requires a professional with a combination of strong interpersonal, customer service, administrative, and programmatic skills, as well as a person that is highly energetic, detail oriented, and with the ability to handle multiple projects, priorities, and personalities at a time. It also requires the ability to use databases, spreadsheets, and online tools such as content management systems, and platforms for surveys, webinars, and data collection.

The position’s efforts will primarily be spent as follows: administrative and logistical support for member relations – 90%; other duties as required – 10%.

Location: This position is based in Washington, DC with telework opportunities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES

Member Relations & Communication

  • Assists with regular communication with members; ensures that Global Ties U.S. leadership is aware of the latest changes and developments in membership
  • Regularly reviews and assesses annual membership dues structure
  • Manages licensing process for Network members
  • Answers general inquiries from members and stakeholders
  • Recruits and enlists members for new programming opportunities

Reporting & Database Management

  • Compiles data for updating online membership directory, and prepares membership directory for printing and publishing
  • Oversees timely data collection and dissemination of member staff/program changes for community-wide announcements, and for regular Salesforce updates
  • Conducts research and prepares background information for reports for the Board’s Membership Committee
  • Compiles end of year reports, assists with the creation of benchmark reports and local impact reports; processes information into an annual State of the Network support for Global Ties U.S. leadership

Programming & Content

  • Implements new member onboarding process
  • Supports the organization’s membership professional and organizational development efforts, and provides regular update to members on new programming opportunities
  • Designs and implements the Network DC program for members (virtual and in-person)
  • Assists with preparation of project proposals to the U.S. Department of State and other funders
  • Assists with planning and implementation of the National Meeting, regional summits, webinars, and other education and capacity building programs for members
  • Develops agendas and executes regular member conference calls
  • Supports the regular updates of the Member Portal site with timely information and maintains content overall

Other Support

  • Serves as back-up to the Program Manager, Training and Community Development
  • As needed, supports Program Manager, Citizen Diplomacy Action Fund with international affiliate and associate communication
  • Performs other administrative and logistic duties as required

Special Responsibilities Required

  • Will be required to attend meetings and events outside of the office.
  • Will be required to attend various program and event activities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Two to four years of professional experience relevant to this position
  • B.A. in international education, nonprofit management, or related field
  • Experience conceptualizing, planning, implementing, and/or supporting training design and educational opportunities for professionals
  • Demonstrated experience with MS Office (including Excel, Word, and Power Point), learning management systems and training design software, and/or other Internet-based or desktop databases and software
  • Experience with learning management platforms and software such as Bridge LMS, Camtasia, Adobe Premiere Pro, and Articulate 360
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
