Job Description
A Senior Product Owner is an experienced professional who not only brings top quality expertise to manage product requirements, but also introduces new useful tools and practices. They are the technical domain expert for their applications/solutions and can provide guidance to both their team and others. A Senior Product Owner actively supports the customer from the business point of view and provides guidance in assessing Product opportunities and risks. A Senior Product Owner is responsible for ensuring good economic decisions are continuously being made at the release, sprint, and product backlog levels. A key skill at this stage is to be able to work across the engineering and product organizations on cross-team projects and clearly identify inter-dependencies. Furthermore, a Senior Product Owner stays up to date with popular trends in software product development and knows how to provide additional value to the customer based on this knowledge.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage all activities of a Scrum team including but not limited to Daily Stand Ups, Planning, Grooming and Retrospectives. 10%
- Build a strong working relationship with the Scrum Team that fosters mutual respect 10%
- Serve as the business expert for the Scrum team, negotiating priorities with business and technical stakeholders. 10%
- Build market and technical knowledge that will help to make key decisions 10%
- Develops expertise on relevant products 10%
- Breaks down Epics into features and User stories for development teams 10%
- Learns and relays technical concepts dynamically based on the audience 5%
- Creates high-performing teams that deliver consistently high quality 5%
- Shares leanings with other Product owners 5%
- Acts as back-up to Product manager 5%
- Interacts with customers and key stakeholders on a regular basis 5%
- Takes on large cross-team projects and ensures that all parties understand what is being delivered 5%
- Ensures good ROI is delivered from each sprint. 5%
- Define and maintain product backlogs across cross-team projects. 5%
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field preferably (Required)
Experience
- 5 – 7 years Relevant Experience (Required)
- (Preferred) Experience in advertising or big data
- Preferred Agile certification
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Ability to break down technical issues into easily digestible data points
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Expertise in Agile principles
- Ability to manage multiple Scrum teams and backlogs
- Acts of technical SME for their product/business areas
- Ability to solve complex product puzzles
- Consistently looks for ways to improve team performance, either by implementing new tools/processes or mentoring/guiding individual team members
- Ability to be decisive and make product decisions
Additional Information
Salary:$120,000-$130,000
The ultimate compensation offered for the position will depend upon several factors such as skill level, cost of living, experience, and responsibilities.
