ABOUT THE ROLE

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
Reporting to the Photo Director, the Sr. Photographer will:
- Lead a team of photographers and retouchers on the New Item Pipeline to light, compose, style, photograph, and process a wide range of products according to Uncommon Goods style guide under a tight timeline
- Possess a professional understanding of lighting techniques and ideas and be excited to try new creative approaches
- Partner with a stylist to create inspiring settings
- Capture the functionality, features, benefits, and uniqueness of individual products
- Work closely with Photo Director, Sr. Art Director and Merchandising team to manage and execute daily workflow for the studio to deliver the best photographic representation of products across multiple digital platforms
- Update and maintain the digital archive of images
- Share responsibility for proper care, upkeep and maintenance of the photo studio workspace, equipment & supplies
- Understand deadlines and schedules to help prioritize projects
- Participate in both on-site and on-location photo shoots as needed
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- 4-6 years of experience as a product photographer in an e-commerce studio
- Undergraduate or graduate degrees in a visual/creative field, studio art, fine art, or photography preferred
- A strong portfolio emphasizing product photography that demonstrates experience in applied techniques of digital photography, lighting, creativity and compositional skills
- Knowledge in set design, styling and natural and studio lighting
- Solid understanding of Adobe Creative Suite, CaptureOne and Mac proficiency
- Someone who can inspire and be inspired by our team
- Must be highly creative, flexible, efficient, and detail-oriented
- Good interpersonal skills; a kind and engaged collaborator with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
This will be an onsite role at our Brooklyn Army Terminal location in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. We are only hiring in the Tri-State area.
