We are currently hiring for the position of:
Senior Manager, People & Culture
As Senior Manager, People & Culture you will support the Senior Director of People and Culture, to develop, champion and deliver on short and long term people strategies in support of TIFF’s strategic priorities. You will encourage a passionate organizational culture, drive transformative change management through strategic HR planning and leadership. You will support and champion Diversity and Inclusion in the organization and will have oversight over all areas of the People & Culture team.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operational Effectiveness
- Supports the development of departmental goals and objectives based on strategy, customer expectations and corporate policies and leading practices
- Collaboratively engages with community partners to ensure impact of programs and initiatives
- Informs and aligns Talent Acquisition & Volunteer Resources’ activities with department and organizational wide strategic plan, focusing on Equity, Diversity and Inclusion
- Explores and assists in the creation of operational synergies between the human resources, talent acquisition and the volunteer resources functions
- Implements metrics to measure efficiency and effectiveness of recruitment and volunteer department resources. This includes maintenance of data integrity, reliability, validity, and analysis
- Oversees the employee and volunteer recognition programs such as engagement events, volunteer appreciation month, annual service awards
- Role models TIFF’s core values while performing work with key consideration to maintaining morale
- Contributes in fostering a safe and welcoming workplace environment for all staff, volunteers, and prospective employees
Diversity and Inclusion
- Support the Senior Director with TIFF’s D&I Strategy in support of TIFF’s Strategic Priorities
- Oversee D&I Community Clusters, providing guidance and structure based on TIFF’s strategic direction
- Manage the reporting of diversity statistics for designated groups, and identifies diversity benchmarks as compared to Diversity Census data
- Champion D&I knowledge, resources, best practices and experience to help leaders, People & Culture, D&I Community Clusters, and other internal stakeholders to build integrated D&I capability
- In collaboration with D&I Community Cluster Leads, develop educational resources on D&I topics
- Guide outreach initiatives for designated groups; Including career fairs, educational initiatives, and other programs aimed at establishing a sustainable pipeline of qualified designated group applicants
Labour Relations
- Operate as a point of escalation for complex labour relation matters
- Maintain current expertise and knowledge of Employment Standards Act, the Ontario Human Rights Code, Pay Equity Act, collective agreements and other employment related legislation in order to ensure compliance and provide counsel as needed
Team Management
- Provide strong leadership to motivate individual and team performance.
- Coach and provide support all people leaders in developing a positive work culture to optimize delivery of TIFF’s business objectives
- You will utilize your HR expertise to establish progressive, integrated and automated practices for the HR, Payroll and Volunteer & Intern Resources teams

- January 10, 2022
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years’ progressive human resource work experience, and 2+ years leading a team
- Knowledge of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion principles and practices experience required
- Experience with budget forecasting and expenditure monitoring
- Ability to create and maintain engaging relationships with partners and stakeholders
- Strong understanding of employment legislation and its application in a partially unionized workplace
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and timelines, in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent problem-solving ability, discretion and judgement
- Strong organizational and project management skills; Proactive, energetic and results-oriented
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment;
- Innovative, flexible, and able to manage change and uncertainty with confidence
- Strong computer skills in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
- Experience working with HRIS and/or volunteer management software considered an asset
- Strong verbal and written skills (i.e. policies and procedures, memos to staff, PowerPoint presentations, etc.)
- Available to work a flexible schedule
- Professional designation with the Human Resources Professional Association or Certified Volunteer Resources Manager designation an asset but not required
