Full-Time Senior Manager, Capital Delivery

Job Description

Responsibilities:

The Sr. Manager, Capital Delivery is an experienced project professional responsible for leading a combination of planning and execution of activities related to delivery of projects and/or financial/budgeting activity for their teams.  This leader will directly manage portfolio of capital projects and lifecycle execution of these capital projects with project control methodologies.  This role will provide guidance and apply their knowledge to deliver the portfolio of capital projects on schedule and within budget.  Proactively identifies barriers to successful outcomes and partners with leadership teams to overcome these barriers.  Leads scoping, structuring, and coordinating across multiple stakeholders.

  • Utilize experience and strong pharmaceutical project and construction management skills to manage multiple complex capital projects and initiatives simultaneously for various stakeholders using cross-functional project teams
  • Utilize broad knowledge of the functional requirements of pharmaceutical facilities and engineering best practices to ensure that appropriate internal and external resources are incorporated into the project design and execution
  • Creates user requirements and uses engineering knowledge to guide stakeholders in understanding of trade-offs among cost, schedule, function, operations, and risk
  • Aligns expectations with the project team and stakeholders applying appropriate standards, guidelines, regulations, and procedures.
  • Develops and formalizes baseline project management plans at execution level granularity of tasks, resource requirements, so that critical path and expenditures can be identified and managed
  • Monitors milestones and task activities to ensure timely completion of project deliverables
  • Manage communication flows to project stakeholders, including team members, management, program, and functional organizations
  • Responsible for managing constructability reviews, approval of submittals, field execution, commissioning protocol development and execution, and oversight and review of validation plan and regulatory submission strategy
  • Act as coach and mentor to other members of the Engineering Team and SMEs on project teams to drive continuous improvement, knowledge transfer, and professional growth
  • Identify areas to drive down project costs through lessons learned and develop specific improvement strategies to realize savings
  • Strong understanding of construction terminology and legal content of construction contracts and documents
  • Determines own instructions and procedures on day-to-day tasks and new assignments
  • Drive the complete execution of assigned projects in manner that drives high engagement from project team members
  • Exhibit strong project leadership and effective decision-making skills
  • Lead and promote effective teamwork and troubleshooting
  • Develop five year capital plan for end of life equipment and manufacturing demand for equipment

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering
  • A minimum of seven (7) years experience of Capital Delivery management in pharmaceutical/process industry setting
  • A minimum of seven (7) years experience working in a cGMP manufacturing environment with knowledge CFR requirements
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
  • PMP certification
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Word, and Excel
  • Excellent organization and communication skills
  • Lead by example through strong work ethics and high standards
  • Extensive knowledge of GMP requirements and regulations
  • Personal competencies: Self-awareness, integrity, team player, continuous learner
  • Ability to think and act both strategically and tactically
  • Familiar with pharmaceutical industry guidelines such as ISPE Baseline Guides, ISO, and ASME BPE
  • Familiarity with FDA current Good Manufacturing Practices
  • Familiarity with FDA regulations relating to biologic and drug products
  • Occasional stooping, bending, stretching, pushing, pulling, reaching and/or light lifting may be required
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk and move within workspace for extended periods
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks including grasping, pushing and pulling
  • Ability to climb ladders and work in elevated areas
  • Minimal travel in North America and possibly abroad
  • Environment may include working in office or in a laboratory/manufacturing area
  • Environment may include working at heights, in cold temperature, and/or constricted spaces
  • Ability to work safely when working alone or working with others
