The Who, What, Why and Where

Twilio is seeking a Senior Manager, Accounting to join our General Ledger (GL) team. As part of ongoing work around Twilio’s recent acquisition of Segment, this individual will be responsible for steering a successful integration of the Segment GL function into the Twilio Accounting team, including significant cross-functional and cross-company partnering on policy and process alignment and strategic conversations on team structure and resource plans. This individual will oversee the entire Segment GL accounting function, including daily operations, monthly close, and quarterly and annual reporting, and will partner broadly with stakeholders in Revenue Accounting, Tax, and FP&A at both Segment and Twilio.

Must be comfortable in a fast paced, high growth environment and ensure a timely and scalable monthly hard-close while collaborating with multiple functions such as Real Estate & Workplace, Benefits, R&D, Sales & Marketing, and Technical Accounting. We are looking for an individual with a proven track record managing a broad and dynamic scope and a passion for process improvement to join a collaborative team-based working environment. The successful candidate possesses leadership capabilities, a solid operational and technical accounting background, enjoys teaching/training and works proactively to drive results.

This role will report to Twilio’s Director of Accounting and work closely with Directors on both the Segment and Twilio accounting teams.

Who?

We are looking for an individual who lives the Twilio Magic and has experience leading an Accounting close.  They also have:

  • 10+ years in the accounting field
  • Public company and public accounting experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of and passion for GAAP accounting principles and procedures.
  • Knowledge and understanding of SOX controls, experience with adoption preferred.
  • Experience successfully integrating teams and processes due to M&A activity preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and succinctly in writing and verbally across all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects/tasks and thrive in a high-growth, constantly evolving environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required; CPA is highly preferred.
  • Experience with Netsuite and Oracle ERP a plus.
