Full-Time Senior IT Administrator

TechnologyAdvice – Posted by TechnologyAdvice Nashville, Tennessee, United States

Job Description

The IT Team has big plans for 2021 and beyond, and we need a Senior IT Administrator to help us accomplish this. Our support staff helps our team with day-to-day IT tasks, maintains the IT infrastructure that runs our office, and plan out deployment of software that makes our system secure. The job is to be a multiplier in the organization, remove impediments that our team has with technology, be proactive in coming up with sustainable solutions, and come up with efficient technical answers for the teams at TA.

YOUR MISSION

Our business is built on technology (hey, it’s literally in our name!) and our team cannot do their job efficiently without the proper equipment and networking in place. We are looking for someone who wants to be more than the person who fixes the WiFi or backs up a crashed laptop. Our ideal candidate can step away from the computer and also be a thought leader in the IT space.

We need someone who is interested in supporting all things IT. You are eager to learn various technical challenges from helping our staff with IT needs to helping our engineers figure out problems running our software. You should be able to adapt to your audience, one minute explaining a complex technical problem to the executive team and the next discussing relaying that same issue in plain terms to a peer.

YOUR DAY TO DAY AT TA

  • Meet with the support team each day to discuss open issues, assign work based on open tickets, and review work that was done the previous day
  • Provide leadership in planning out IT initiatives
  • Provide support to our in-house and remote workforce
  • Troubleshoot difficult IT problems with or without SOPs
  • Ensure that the network all of our locations are performing optimally
  • Develop policies and procedures for recurring issues
  • Collaborate with internal teams or vendors to execute projects
  • Automate the manual tasks! Create new tools or improve upon existing ones to enable the team to be more efficient
  • Provide user level and help desk support for Windows, Mac, and Linux users

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Configure internal systems
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues
  • Uptime of network infrastructure at two main offices
  • Train new system users and set up their accounts
  • Ensure the smooth deployment of new applications
  • Update and maintain technical documentation

WHAT YOU BRING

  • 5 years of IT Administration / Desktop Support experience required
  • Strong understanding of networking technologies and principles
  • Knowledge of both hardware and software and a desire to learn more
  • Organized with attention to detail
  • Excellent analytical, logical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Professional etiquette and appearance
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and vehicle
  • Ability to move up to 49lbs as well as stand and walk for 10-12 hours at a time with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Located in the Nashville, Tennessee area or willing to relocate.
