Full-Time Senior iOS Developer
Job Description
You might be a good fit for the role if:
- You have 6+ years of professional experience building mobile apps, with at least 4 of those years working on iOS including meaningful work with Swift and SwiftUI.
- You have a strong product sense and passion for iOS UI and UX product development.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with Product Management, Design, and other engineers (particularly iOS) in a cross-functional team.
- You’re passionate about continuous learning and innovation in the mobile industry, and keep up to date with evolving best practices and trends.
- You have sound engineering and coding skills, and can make good calls regarding when to use iOS-provided vs custom or third-party components.
- You have strong technical communication skills that work well in a remote and asynchronous environment.
- You are a team player, and are excited to collaborate with others in an agile team environment.
- You have good instincts for simplifying and breaking up larger pieces of work into deliverable stories.
- You are comfortable with the ambiguity and fast pace of a startup environment.
- You have a strong working proficiency in English
What you will be doing:
- Building Teleport’s user-facing mobile apps for riders and drivers.
- Taking ownership of the iOS codebase.
- Collaborating with our product owners to ensure the upcoming work makes sense and directly helps us win.
- Working closely with our designer to refine the UX in regards to any technical constraints.
- Building subsystems into the apps that allow us to track and monitor app performance, user behavior, and gather vital rideshare-specific data to improve our location search and mapping capabilities.
- Contributing to the API design for talking to the Teleport backend, and building native Swift libraries for communicating with them.
- Identifying any areas that can be improved and prioritize delivering working software.
- Helping us to build the team as we grow, and provide leadership to future hires.
What onboarding looks like:
- You’ll commit useful fixes and improvements to the iOS code within days.
- Implement new product features in the first weeks.
- Discuss our technology and strategy with the team on a regular basis.
- Bring fresh ideas and suggestions to our technical and product roadmaps.
