Full-Time Senior Financial Analyst
Job Description
Position Summary:
Conducts and documents complex financial analysis projects. Prepares forecasts and analyses trends in general business areas. Performs economic research work and prepares analysis of subjects such as rates of return, depreciation, working capital, investment and financial and expense performance comparisons. May assist and train lower level financial analysts. Handles special projects, as assigned.
Essential Functions:
- Provide operational finance support for project administration, including revenue and cost analysis.
- Prepare reports and presentations regarding profitability, operating costs, capital expenditures, investments, and financial positions.
- Analyze balance sheet and income statement variances.
- Assist in maintaining general ledgers, ensuring transactions are recorded and balances are reported in accordance with U.S. GAAP and company policy.
- Perform month-end close process/tasks, including preparation and review of journal entries and account reconciliations/analysis in line with the monthly and quarterly close schedules.
- Assist in preparation of monthly consolidated financial statements and management reports.
- Provide support for the annual budget process and monthly forecast updates.
- Support analysis to identify recommendations for improved operations.
- Support financial review of contracts and agreements.
- Contribute to quarterly/annual SEC financial reporting.
- Comply with internal controls/SOX activities for corporate close process.
- Provide support for internal & external audit requests.
- Suggest, support and implement department and ERP system process improvement projects.
- Assist with special projects and financial support as needed.
Education & Experience Requirements:
Bachelors Degree in Finance, Economics or Accounting or educational equivalent. 6 years finance experience. Extensive knowledge of accounting and financial reporting principles. Specialized knowledge of accounting requirements pertaining to the area supported. Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with all levels of management. CPA preferred.
