Job Description

Clark College is currently accepting applications for a full-time, 12-month, exempt Senior Executive to the President position in the President’s Office. The Senior Executive to the President is a leader who oversees the daily operations of the executive unit and manages complex projects supporting the college’s mission on behalf of the President. This position responds for the President on important matters involving students, employees and the public. Using strategic and creative problem-solving skills, the Senior Executive creates agendas, schedules and maintains effective relationships for the President and executive unit. This high-level administrative position is the President’s main point of contact for all constituencies and is critical to advancing the President’s and Board’s priorities. This equity-minded leader is a trusted advisor to the President and takes a lead role in ensuring the goals in the college’s Equity Centered Strategic Plan are met. The Senior Executive has a demonstrated understanding of social justice and advancing equity. This position also serves as the President’s liaison to the Board of Trustees and manages all board logistics and communications.

Position Responsibilities

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Attend Executive Cabinet and Board of Trustee meetings.
  • Provide timely responses on behalf of the President to inquiries and or issues involving students, employees, and the public.
  • Serve as a point contact and develop, manage, and maintain effective communication between the President and various constituencies, both internal and external.
  • Provide timely follow-up and management of initiatives, responding in a timely manner to daily issues while ensuring short, medium, and long-term strategic goals are met.
  • Lead and direct special projects supporting the college mission, utilizing creative problem-solving and project management skills while working with multiple departments.
  • Maintain college policies and procedures and serve as liaison to the campus in interpreting college policies and regulations.
  • Manage the President’s calendar, correspondence, and web presence, such as LinkedIn.
  • Oversee planning and management for college-wide events sponsored by the President or the Board of Trustees. For example, Opening Day, Legislative Breakfast, State of the College, and retreats.
  • Organize and develop agendas and priorities for meetings chaired by the President and document decisions and items for follow-up.
  • Manage all high-level administrative tasks related to the Board of Trustees, including meeting logistics, agenda development, and scheduling.
  • Ensure that all official Board of Trustees records are properly maintained and that the Board of Trustees is following all legal requirements.
  • Manage websites and portals for the President and the Board of Trustees.
  • Oversee and manage daily operations and staff of the executive unit, including all administrative, financial, and operational activities for the President’s Office.
  • Develop and manage unit budgets for the President’s Office and the Board of Trustees.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate degree AND four (4) years of experience providing high-level executive support; including professional experience in any of the following areas: budgeting, project management, supervision/office management, and/or report writing OR six (6) years of demonstrated experience which includes experience in any of the following areas: high-level executive support, budget development and management, complex project management, supervision/office management, strong written and oral communication, and/or creative problem solving and decision making.
  • Ability to work well with people of all ages from academically, culturally, and socioeconomically diverse backgrounds.

SALARY/BENEFITS:
Salary Range: $92,768 – $107,417 annually (commensurate with qualifications and experience).
Successful candidates are typically hired at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases.
