The City of Camas is currently seeking qualified candidates for a Senior Engineering Technician position. The individual selected for this position will perform technical level duties in support of the City’s Community Development Engineering Department. The individual should have the ability to provide information and assistance to contractors and the public on the City’s engineering services and activities. The individual will be required to perform construction field inspections in all weather conditions and is mainly in the field with occasional office duties.
The hours for this position are Monday-Friday 8am-5pm. This position is represented by the CPEA bargaining and is eligible for a comprehensive benefits package which includes family and domestic partner benefits such as medical, dental and vision. Retirement benefits are provided through Washington State Retirement System. Other benefits include life insurance, paid holidays, and accrued leave.
Candidates for this position shall have:
- Construction / field experience desirable, specifically with the various civil engineering components of water, sanitary sewer, stormwater conveyance, roads, etc.
- Education equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade supplemented by two years of college level coursework in civil engineering or a related field, and four years of increasingly responsible technical engineering experience, or an equivalent combination thereof.
- Valid driver’s license
