Your Role and Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute Systems Engineering plans and processes to meet program/project requirements.
- Perform operational (user) requirements analysis to ensure system functionality aligns with service needs.
- Conduct in-depth technical reviews of documentation and test plans, including DoD Architecture Framework (DoDAF) and various engineering documents such as Software Performance Specifications (SPS), Software Test Reports (STR), and System/Subsystem Design Documents (SSDD).
- Support system design and architecture, ensuring solutions are robust and align with program goals.
- Implement best practices in product engineering design and production to maintain reliable process controls.
- Determine testing requirements necessary to validate operational concepts and meet performance specifications, including cybersecurity controls.
- Perform acquisition technology gaps analysis, develop technology transition plans, and assess Technology Readiness Levels (TRLs).
What You’ll Need:
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college or university in applied science, computing, engineering, mathematics, physics, management information systems, or a related engineering or computer science discipline.
- Minimum of fifteen (15) years of experience in systems engineering, including developing plans, performing operational requirements analysis, and executing best practices.
- Extensive experience in reviewing technical documentation and engineering documents such as SVDs, STPs, STRs, and more.
- Fifteen (15) years of experience with system solutions, system design, and architecture.
- Proven ability to execute product engineering design and implement quality control measures to ensure program reliability.
- Experience with operational testing, performance validation, and cybersecurity controls.
- Familiarity with acquisition technology gaps analysis, technology transition planning, and TRL assessment.
- Active Secret level security clearance with the ability to obtain a Top-Secret level security clearance and access to SCI if needed.
- US Citizenship required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Expertise in DoD systems and architecture.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of working in collaborative environments to meet complex project goals.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and work effectively with team members.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
- Must be able to navigate each department at the assigned facility.
Location:
This is a full-time hybrid position based in San Diego, CA. You’ll enjoy the flexibility of working from home while also engaging with the team in person at the client office three times a week, with occasional additional days as needed. Remote work options will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Travel <10%.
Compensation and Benefits:
The compensation range for this position in California is $200,000/year to $250,000/year, depending on your expertise, market location conditions, and government contract specifics. Our benefits package includes a full range of medical coverage, a 401k plan, and an Employee Stock Ownership Program (ESOP), and other benefits dependent on the position offered, ensuring you are well-rewarded for your contributions. Base compensation information is based on market location.
