Full-Time Senior Donor Data Analyst

ABOUT THIS ROLE

The Senior Donor Data Analyst proactively provides the thorough analysis and research required to discover new opportunities for Water For People’s continued growth, as well as the forecasting and analytics needed to measure and evaluate fundraising efficacy and impact. The Senior Donor Data Analyst is relentlessly curious and data-driven, committed to connecting real-time data to actionable fundraising strategies and clear decision-making.

The Senior Donor Data Analyst is the primary analyst of all fundraising data and related departmental data. This includes data extraction, reporting, analytics, and insights. The Senior Donor Data Analyst is a key partner for the Chief Growth Officer, departmental directors, and other departmental colleagues in data-based decision making to realize Water For People’s ambitious growth goals. This role also collaborates across the global organization, communicating findings and recommendations across cultures and job functions to different internal audiences.

IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL

Fundraising Data Analysis

  • Design and conduct analyses, develop metrics and goals, and assist frontline fundraising efforts.
  • Develop reports and materials to inform strategic decision making, including dashboard processes to enable continuous and comparative analyses of fundraising initiatives, benchmark metrics, and retention.
  • Responsible for analyzing annual fundraising metrics and performance for reporting to Global Leadership Team and Board of Directors, in partnership with Chief Growth Officer.
  • Serves as primary contact for department reporting needs.
  • Support strategic segmentation of donor data for enhanced solicitation, stewardship, and overall integration of donors into donor journey.
  • Manipulate and analyze advancement datasets to reach meaningful data driven conclusions and discoveries.
  • Establish and cultivate a set of Business Intelligence (BI) tools and techniques to deliver insights and findings for end-user decision-making.
  • Support revenue-budget and forecasting processes, providing historical trends to support accurate projections.
  • Perform revenue-projection and revenue-gap analyses as needed to enhance the organization’s ability to raise money and communicate with donors.
  • Provide accurate and comprehensive weekly reporting on projected revenue, including restricted and non-core, to assist in making informed decisions.
  • Proactively probe data for insights and recommendations to be shared with departmental directors, especially Directors of Donor Engagement and Principal Gifts.

Data Collaboration and Leadership

  • Work closely with stakeholders to understand their goals and data dependencies, translate user analytics, and apply standard data analysis processes that conclude with sharing findings in written and presentable formats.
  • Support the Database Manager in devising and refining system nomenclature and coding protocols that support analytics and reporting needs.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration and accountability when pursuing individual and organizational performance standards.
  • Partner with staff in other departments to understand fundraising trends and their impact on strategies.
  • Partner across departments to find connections and opportunities between financial, programmatic, and donor data.

YOU WILL EXCEL IN THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE

  • At least 7 years proven work experience in fundraising intelligence and data analytics.
  • Hands-on experience with various BI operations, including dashboards, visualizations, reporting, and data mining, and proven ability to utilize these tools for data-driven decision-making and to tell compelling data stories.
  • Experience building systems and procedures.
  • Familiarity with the philanthropic industry and best practices in fundraising.
  • Ability to analyze and review operational procedures, identify problem areas, and optimize performance through procedural changes.
  • Ability to influence through engagement rather than through direct authority.
  • English language fluency.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office program suite.

MORE ABOUT THIS ROLE

  • This position has the option to work from an office or remotely in one of the following countries where Water For People is present: Guatemala, Honduras, Bolivia, India, Malawi, Peru, Rwanda, Uganda, Tanzania, the United Kingdom, or the United States.
  • Candidates must be a citizen or legally authorized to work in the country they live in.
  • Ability to work outside regular business hours to meet with team members located in other time zones.
  • Ability to work in an open office environment if choosing to work from the Denver, CO office.

 Salary Range:

Anticipated salary range: $75,000 – $90,000   for US candidates only. (If based outside the US an equivalent country market – based salary will be determined)

Actual salary will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors.
