Under the leadership of the Marketing & Communications Director, the person in this position will be responsible for crafting and implementing strategies for institutional and practice/industry-specific social media campaigns. This position is eligible for a flexible hybrid-remote work schedule after a period of in-office training.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develops and implements the Firm’s digital media strategy in conjunction with the Marketing & Communications Director. Crafts and implements strategies for institutional and practice/industry-specific social media campaigns.
- Creates, maintains, and monitors social media calendar to align with the Firm’s marketing communication goals. Stays current in the digital media and legal marketing fields to ensure incorporation of best practices into social media campaigns.
- Develops, crafts and edits digital media content, including copy, graphics, basic video and animations.
- Serves as primary manager and liaison of, and to, digital media vendors. Manages the Firm’s social media software platforms, ensuring ongoing maintenance and training to best leverage the investment. Conducts firmwide, group and individual training on relevant platforms for staff and attorneys. With business development team, monitors performance of Firm material/activity on content aggregators and reports on same.
- Monitors traffic/usage statistics for social media accounts and liaises with the marketing technology team to report on and assess performance, particularly as it relates to specific campaigns and initiatives. Advises on best practices for digital content based on usage and traffic statistics from various platforms. Educates business development team on relevance of statistics.
- As part of marketing communication team, drafts and posts internal news and web site updates via the intranet and web content management system on various matters, including honors and awards, community activities, practice successes, and client partnerships, and keeps home pages of both sites current with top updates.
Experience and Education Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree required; Degree in Communications, Journalism, English or another writing-intensive liberal arts major strongly preferred.
- At least four years of relevant digital media experience in communications, public relations or journalism required. Experience in legal industry preferred but not required.
- High comfort level and experience with standard digital media tools such as Canva, SproutSocial, HootSuite, etc. required.
- Experience with content management systems, web posting and maintenance and basic HTML code/commands preferred.
- Knowledge of, and experience with, content aggregators such as Mondaq preferred.
Compensation:
For applicants that meet the experience requirements for the role and are physically based in New York City, the expected salary range is $105,000-$125,000 annually upon commencement of employment. Starting salary will be determined on an individualized basis with consideration to prior experience and additional qualifications. This is in addition to a comprehensive benefit package offered by the Firm.
