Job Description

The Legal Aid Society’s Civil Practice is seeking a full-time Civil Grants & Contracts (G&C) Senior Data Coordinator. This position reports to the Deputy Director of Program Development & Evaluation on the Quality Assurance (QA) team and serves as a key link between the other G&C teams and the IT team that manages the case management database, helping to troubleshoot issues in data collection and data integrity. The Data Coordinator will handle data cleaning and reporting on a portfolio of agency-wide grants; provide support to the other G&C teams on special projects requiring data; and assist in developing and refining requests for new and modified SSRS data reports from all five G&C teams.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

General Responsibilities

  • Collects and synthesizes data for the QA team’s own portfolio of funders and enters data into funders’ portals
  • Works with Practice staff and other G&C teams to collect/correct missing or inconsistent data needed for reporting
  • Utilizes other sources of data for reporting, such as Civil Practice trainings, website data, etc.
  • Reviews contracts for QA team’s portfolio of funders to ensure compliance and any required changes in data collection and reporting
  • Maintains and updates instructional manuals for the QA team for data reporting and cleaning for contracts in the QA team portfolio
  • Collaborates with the IT team that manages the database and program-specific database reports on data collection, data integrity, reporting needs, and troubleshooting database issues
  • Coordinates with the Civil Practice Administrator, Office Managers, and Attorney/Program management on best practices for data collection and entry
  • Creates messaging for Practice staff on major changes to the database that impact their data entry and creates guides on best practices for database use
  • Collects and synthesizes performance data into meaningful, concise reports for the Chief Attorney, program directors, other G&C teams, and the Director of Quality Assurance
  • Participates in long-term and large-scale projects to advance our data collection technology

TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with at least three years of work experience in data management for a not‐for‐profit organization
  • Excellent Excel skills and experience navigating very large datasets

SALARY TRANSPARENCY

The posting reflects the range of potential salaries for the role.  The specific salary offers will be dependent on candidate qualifications, including collectively bargained salary steps for unionized roles.

Salary Range/ Salary: $89,000 – $92,475
