Position Overview
The Senior Data Analyst under direction, leads operating departments in identifying performance reporting requirements, implementing quality improvement efforts, and managing documenting processes for data collection. Manages various highly complex projects to track performance improvement and serves as liaison to achieve efficiencies and process improvements throughout the Department.
Job Responsibilities
- Performs analysis, prepares reporting, and provides recommendations for the Departments related to performance management by analyzing large and highly complex performance data sets using standard statistical methods and programming languages including data modeling by creating spreadsheets, graphs, and charts to illustrate findings; drafting clear and concise management reports and providing recommendations based on performance analysis.
- Works with the Departments in developing and maintaining performance processes: documents Departmental processes and workflows to gain a general understanding necessary to measure performance levels; develops meaningful performance metrics that result in organizational and service improvements and maintains document data collection and reporting requirements.
- Provides on-going oversight and support to Departments to ensure that measures are being used to effectively manage operations and affect improved efficiencies.
- Reviews data from Department reporting tools, analyzes data using performance management methods, and prepares analysis and conclusions to ensure Department reporting tools are complete and accurate.
- Leads various projects with Departments to improve performance and efficiency with the goal of reducing costs.
- Identifies and monitors project deliverables, scope, plan, issues, risks, and milestones.
- Establishes measures to determine success of projects (costs, scope, time, intended results, etc.); Ensures all targets and requirements are met.
- Assists management in gaining an understanding of the goals and objectives of performance management and how to incorporate the concept into their daily routine by providing solutions and answers to the Department’s issues and questions relating to performance management.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related field.
- Requires three (3) years of experience in data analysis and/or implementing performance management programs.
Preferred Qualifications (in priority order)
- Possesses working knowledge of performance management principles and effective use of logic models.
- Possesses experience developing/implementing performance management systems, data analysis techniques with an understanding of basic statistical concepts and performance measures, change management principles and practices, database analysis, and presentation software: Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and SQL.
